The Technology Development Platform is an initiative of Genome British Columbia to strengthen engineering in the life sciences in British Columbia. Technology plays such a key role science and medicine that strong engineering capabilities must be a feature of any leading clinical research community.

The Platform actively seeks out biomedical and life science technology opportunities that have commercial potential by building on existing relationships with clinicians and scientists to identify current problems and bottlenecks that result in unmet needs in research and patient treatment.

Resources are available to do proof of concept work on emerging ideas and deliver high quality prototypes that can be used to demonstrate clinical efficacy towards broader uptake and commercialization.
